Where Does the Time Go?
Do you ever wonder where the time goes? We all have the same 24 hours, yet it feels like time is slipping away. Maybe it’s not even spent on things worthwhile.
If you want to know where you time is going, try tracking it. You don’t have to track every single minute of the day, but you should have a general idea of where you are spending the most time. If you don’t know where it’s going, you won’t be able to change anything.
Start tracking your day in 30-minute blocks. It doesn’t have to be incredibly granular, just put down what you spent your time most on during that block. You don’t have to stop every 30 minutes, either. Just take a break every 2-3 hours to write down your 30-minute increments.
Whether it’s in work or your personal life, tracking your time will help you be much more aware of where your time is really going. It will also help you be more conscious of how you’re spending your time in the moment! This increased awareness is helping you resist distraction and get back to the task at hand - what you really want to be doing.
